My first quilt back at the machine after college is a patriotic flying geese pattern. I made this throw quilt for my husband. I learned a lot from making this quilt and I was so glad to finally finish. I didnt plan out the pattern. I was just excited after seeing a quilt with flying geese that I just started making flying geese blocks!
My initial goal was to make the patriotic theme seem antique which is why I chose a cream colored background instead of white. Needless to say, the resulting design is nothing compared to the original goal, but I am happy with the finished product…and so is my husband!
Quilts are addictive! Once I got this quilt completed, I had orders for three more! I am fine with that since I usually have another in mind by the time I am done with one. I used the no waste flying geese method to make these blocks finishing this quilt right on time!
