I am not sure why I get bogged down when I am making a quilt about the time I get close to putting a border and backing on my quilt. I was thinking this evening how we have many, many holidays coming up soon, and I want to make some things for the spring and summer holidays.
I never cease to be amazed at the inspiration I gain from Pinterest. I am a Google fan, and I enjoy clicking on images when I am need of inspiration, but there is something special about plugging in a topic in Pinterest to feel I am on top of the game.
It is funny how memory connections can lead us in many directions. Years ago, I fell in love with the idea of shadow boxes. I was in Waco, Texas this past weekend visiting my sister when I stumbled across some bautiful shadow boxes at a craft mall. I remembered crazy quilting,
and I thought how interesting me finding Easter egg quilts on Pinterest that resemble crazy quilting. Well, they are not quite crazy quilting, but I feel inspired to put some ideas together to see what I can come up with in the way of holiday inspiration. For example, the egg appliqué quilt really has a beautiful color selection of fabrics; although, I could not find the pattern – I know from researching this quilt designed by Mabeth Oxenreider seems a good start to do some crazy quilting. If you can find a link to the actual pattern leave a comment below!
Crazy quilting is just decorating quilts with 3d objects such as lace, buttons, and anything you can sew down! Why not crazy quilt some Easter eggs?
Easter is a fun time of year, and I cannot help remember the taste of Peeps and chocolate easter egg candy.
The color green in this quilt reminds me of the grass that goes in an Easter basket!
Bunnies are so cute and cuddly! Easter would not be the same without cute little bunnies! I ran across this quilt idea for Easter and I had to share it.
How do you find inspiration when you are out of ideas for quilting? Let me know in the comments below. That’s all I have for now, but I assure you I will be working on finding more projects to inspire us forward! Until next time, happy quilting!
